This Privacy Policy describes how EPA 608 Practice Test ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at epa608practicetest.net (the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully.

Short Version: Most of the Service requires no account. Your test history is stored locally in your browser — we don't see it. If you purchase Pro Lifetime access, your email is collected for account verification and your payment is processed by Paddle (we never see your card details). We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.

1. Who We Are

EPA 608 Practice Test is an independent educational platform for HVAC technicians and students preparing for the EPA Section 608 certification exam. We are not affiliated with the Environmental Protection Agency, ESCO Institute, Mainstream Engineering, or any government body.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally in Your Browser (Free Users)

The Free tier requires no account and no login. Test results, progress history, quiz scores, and preferences are saved only in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser's storage permanently deletes all of it.

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information through Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, including:

This data is aggregated and used to understand how the Service is used and improve it. It is not used to identify individual users.

3. Payment Data and Paddle

All payments for Pro Lifetime access are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.

We never see your payment card details. When you check out, you are interacting directly with Paddle's secure payment interface. Paddle collects your card number, billing address, and related payment information. We receive only your email address and order confirmation from Paddle to activate your Pro access.

Paddle is independently PCI DSS compliant and handles all payment security. Paddle's Privacy Policy governs the handling of your payment information: paddle.com/legal/privacy

localStorage (Browser-Side Only)

Used to save your test history, scores, settings, and Pro status on your own device. This data never leaves your browser. You can clear it at any time via your browser's settings.

Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to track aggregate usage patterns (page views, session length, events). These cookies do not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Payment Cookies (Checkout Only)

When you proceed to checkout, Paddle's payment iframe sets cookies necessary for the secure payment process. These are limited to the checkout session.

No Advertising Cookies

We do not display third-party advertising on this site. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or tracking networks for advertising purposes.

The Service is intended for users who are at least 16 years of age (13 in the United States). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
